what i’ve been up to
i know it’s been too long – i got back from India on Dec 8th and i owe you guys an update on how the rest of my india trip went – let me just say – AWESOME! Coming back was real sad, and i think i’m still feeling the holiday blues even tho there’s quite a bit to get excited about over the next coming months!
Just quickly:
End of this month there’s an Ashtanga Vinyasa Workshop with Tina Pizzimenti – for details go to my workshop page
And in April i’ll be attending my very first Acro Yoga Workshop with Francesco Semino & Valeria Maggiali again details are on my worshop page 🙂
I’ve been attending Acro Yoga classes every wednesdays at Spazio Luce and i’m having so much fun – learning new moves and seeing the work upside down 😉
I’ve also started teaching yoga at Spazio Luce – the other teacher there and myself will be alternating – so she’ll teach sometimes and i’ll teach sometimes 🙂 sharing the ❤ – sharing the yoga – that’s what it’s all about!
There’s a few other workshops i’m thinking about attending – currently looking into flights and costs to see what is realistic and what won’t be this year! So more info to come on this!
Ah yes and lastly – how could i forget! – i’m starting a new course on Saturday: learning to read and write Sanskrit! Cannot wait! Def gonna give you guys my feedback on this and let you know how i’m getting on with it!
i’ll leave you with some pix of what i’ve been up to over the past few months…and i promise to write about india!
ciao x

a Look Back at 2012
Happy New Year Everyone!
Just a quick little update…2012 is now over, and as when anything ends, it’s good to reflect and look back at what was, not so that we may move forward, but to learn from mistakes and be thankful and grateful about all the good stuff. So here is my reflection on my 2012….
2012 for me was a year of firsts – starting a new career, living in a different country, teaching yoga (both in english and italian!), and of course with all that inevitably come lots of highs and even more lows…i ask myself whether this is the right path for me? Am i good enough? i can’t help but think these doubts and fears are normal? or at least i hope they are! i have to remind myself that the journey is a long one and its a slow one too…i need constant self reminder to be patient, determined, dedicated and to have faith…even tho sometimes it’s really hard….but i’m still here.
I began teaching once a week at first, and then twice a week in 2 different centers…one of the centers i teach at increased the hours so that i now teach there 3 times a week and they now want me to teach ‘Yoga for Dancers’ – which is obviously great…so watch this space 😉 …however i wouldn’t say i’m teaching ‘full time’ just yet, and this is the goal.
I taught yoga at a 2 events which went ok – not great turn out – but i did gets contacts and students who then came to my Yoga in the Park classes and who now follow me around, some have even joined the studio i teach at…so not all is bad. One of the events is occurring again this year and they’ve asked me if i wanted to teach yoga there again – i will – i mean after all it cant’ hurt right?
and this bring me to the apex of 2012 for me…my 2 month trip to india and the 200hr ashtanga vinyasa TTC i did whilst over there….the course and not to mention india was amazing and exactly what i needed…i met some amazing people, made lots of new friends and practiced with some very talented teachers from whom i learnt a lot…India remains with me in my heart and i will go back as soon as i possibly can, promise. The not so great news is that ashtanga hasn’t left my body unscarred unfortunately…in sept i suffered a knee injury from an ashtanga teacher…i was in marichyasana D and she pushed my knee down with her foot, it still hurts and i’m due to have an MRI scan on Monday, due to this i have had to modify almost everything….the base of my thumb has also started to hurt and to top it all off a few days ago my neck and shoulders started to hurt, they call it ‘cervicale’ here in italy…apparently it’s when you get ‘hit by air’, but i gotta tell you guys, it hurts! My neck is soooo stiff and any movement (left, right, up, down) is met with sharp pain…even in my sleep! But i believe there is a lesson here too – i need to look after my body and perhaps slow down, take care of myself and love myself….our health is so important and we shouldn’t take it for granted.
So i am entering 2013 with what would appear to be a broken body (!) and with new hopes, fears and dreams for the future whatever it may hold…because which ever road we choose is the right one 😉
I sincerely wish you all the best for 2013 and hope that it brings you lots of joy, happiness, good health and success in all that you do! Here’s to a year filled with happiness, joy, love, good health, success and lots and lots of yoga! 😛
